Biography
He is a professional dedicated to advancing human and animal health through the integration of veterinary medicine, genetics, biotechnology, and biopharmaceutical development. His background has allowed him to explore various fields, from small animal medicine to genetic research aimed to improve animal health and production, as well as wildlife conservation and biopharmaceutical development research.
With over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, he has worked on the development, characterization, evaluation, and regulation of biotechnological drugs, with an emphasis on biosimilars. Carlos holds a Master of Science in Genomic Biotechnology from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México.
Since he joined UDIBI, he has coordinated multidisciplinary teams for the development of special projects and external services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. He has also been involved in regulatory affairs activities, ensuring that biopharmaceutical development adheres to the highest quality and regulatory standards.
Carlos has published 24 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals on the characterization, analytical validation, quality control, and national and international regulation of biosimilars, complex molecules, and blood derivatives. Additionally, he has been a speaker at various scientific and regulatory events. He is a member of the Ethics Committee at the National School of Biological Sciences (ENCB-IPN) and has served as a peer reviewer for scientific journals.
