Biography
He is currently the Manager of Development, Research, and Innovation at the UDIBI and interim professor at the National School of Biological Sciences of the IPN. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biological Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Faculty of Higher Studies Zaragoza, UNAM. Subsequently, he completed Master’s and Doctorate studies with a specialty in Pharmacology at the IPN Research and Advanced Studies Center (CINVESTAV-IPN) in conjunction with the IPN, during which he specialized in the physicochemical characterization of peptides, therapeutic proteins, and complex drugs. Likewise, he participated in sequencing the peptide components of the immunomodulator Transferon Oral® by mass spectrometry in 2019. He has extensive experience in biocomparability studies of therapeutic proteins by mass spectrometry.
His scientific contribution consists of 27 articles published in internationally peer-reviewed journals, including Analytical Chemistry of the American Chemical Society, Frontiers in Pharmacology, and Scientific Reports of Springer Nature, accounting for 219 citations and an H-index of 10. He also has two articles published in national magazines and a patent application as an inventor. He is a full member of the Mexican Society of Immunology, the American Peptide Society, and the National System of Researchers (SNI), Level I (2024 – 2029). He has contributed to the co-direction of 4 bachelor’s theses and currently serves as co-director of two doctoral theses at the National School of Biological Sciences of the IPN. He was recently invited to participate as a member of the Scientific Council of COFEPRIS and as a Review Editor for the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology.
